The morning performance and a possible lunch afterwards

MEO Arena currently lists a session at 10:30 and a duration of 90 minutes. That points to an approximate finish around noon, before allowing for leaving the arena. Check the time on your own ticket and the latest listing in case sessions change.

A lunch after the show is likely to be easier with young children than fitting breakfast, the walk and entry checks into the morning. Nina’s opening hours for 8 December still need confirmation, so contact us before making the café part of your holiday plans.

Planning breakfast before the show

If Nina’s holiday opening is confirmed from 09:00, an early breakfast may work for your family. Leave generous time for waiting, food preparation, the walk and arena security. The mapped walk is about 14 minutes to the stairs, but a family with small children may take longer.

Your ticket tells you which entrance and session to use. For a relaxed morning, avoid a plan that depends on immediate seating or finishing a meal at an exact time.

A menu for children and grown-ups

Nina’s current kids menu has a burger with fries and juice, a mini bowl, a fruit snack and a babychino. For adults there are eggs, bagels, toast, a burger, a vegan main and speciality coffee. Browse the menu for current prices and ask the team about ingredients and allergies.

There are high chairs and a toys corner, subject to availability, plus indoor tables for less comfortable December weather. We welcome families on a walk-in basis; neither a table nor a high chair can be reserved.

Pushchairs, steps and the final approach

From MEO Arena, follow the route from the arena forecourt rather than the much shorter FIL roundabout route. The map shows only the last riverside section and the broad central stairs up to Nina, beside the open white parasols.

This approach includes steps. With a pushchair or wheelchair, choose the rear approach via Rua Comandante Cousteau. The riverside map does not show that step-free final entrance. After a busy performance, allow extra time to leave the building and walk with the children.

Ticket details parents may want to check

The arena currently states that children aged three and over need a paid ticket, while younger children may attend on an adult’s lap. It also lists an audio-description service that must be arranged with the venue in advance. Use the official event page for the current conditions and accessibility contact.

Walking routes from FIL and MEO Arena

Choose the exit used by your event. Riverside routes end at the central stairs; the Rua Comandante Cousteau alternative leads to the rear approach. Confirm open gates and event re-entry rules.

The last part of the walk: find the central stairs

At the small roundabout where Avenida da Boa Esperança meets Rua do Bojador, beside Torre Vasco da Gama, follow the promenade north. Walk up the broad stairs between the buildings and look for Nina beside the open white parasols. The image below shows this final section, not the whole walk from MEO Arena or every FIL exit.

The Google Maps links use fixed starting coordinates and end at the foot of the stairs. Check that your starting point matches the exit you use. To avoid the final stairs, choose the rear approach via Rua Comandante Cousteau.
